Support: Scholarship

Headshot of Tran, a Greenville Technical College student, wearing glasses and a blue collared shirt and smiling at the camera.

When I moved to the U.S. two years ago, I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, but I wasn’t sure which path to take. That changed in the summer of 2025, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

During one of her ultrasounds, I watched the sonographer carefully work to capture the best image of her tumor. Seeing the importance of that role during such a difficult time inspired me to choose Sonography. I want to provide that same care and comfort to other patients and families.

Balancing school, work and my mother’s treatment hasn’t always been easy, but her strength has motivated me to keep going. My parents sacrificed so much to move our family to the U.S., and as a first-generation student, this scholarship gives me hope and helps me stay focused on reaching my goals.

After graduation, I plan to begin my career in healthcare, support my parents and care for others when they need it most.

Scholarships give students like me the opportunity to turn challenging moments into meaningful careers. Your support can help another student keep going and build a brighter future.

“As a first-generation student whose parents sacrificed so much to move our family to the U.S., this scholarship feels like God directly answering my prayers. Your gift eases my financial burden as I pursue my Sonography degree and inspires me to work hard and serve others. May God bless you abundantly in everything you do.”

For students like Tran, a scholarship can mean one less financial obstacle standing between them and graduation. Your gift can help another student keep going, finish what they started and build the future they have worked so hard to reach.
