Support: Scholarship

I’m majoring in Mechatronics at Greenville Technical College, combining mechanical, electrical, and computer systems—fields I’ve loved since I was young and curious about how things work. Seeing more women stepping into STEM showed me that I belong here too, and I want to help open doors for those who come after me.

Growing up mixed in a small southern town, I often felt unseen, which shaped my deep commitment to equality and inclusion. During my Associate’s in Design, my instructor Enid Williams pushed me harder than anyone ever had. At first it was intimidating, but I soon realized it came from a place of belief in my potential—something that changed how I saw myself.

Math anxiety once made me doubt whether I could succeed in a technical field. With tutoring, persistence, and long hours of studying, I discovered I wasn’t incapable—I just needed support and confidence. That breakthrough helped me become someone others can rely on and strengthened my desire to stand up for fairness and opportunity for all.

After completing my certificate, I plan to begin my career as a maintenance technician while continuing my education. Receiving this scholarship didn’t just ease financial stress—it gave me hope, motivation, and a renewed sense that my dreams are within reach. I’m determined to honor this opportunity by working hard, giving back, and helping build a future where everyone—especially women in STEM—can feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support. This scholarship has lifted a huge financial weight off my shoulders and given me the confidence to keep pushing forward. Your kindness inspires me to work even harder and reminds me that others believe in my potential. Because of you, I have the opportunity to pursue my dreams and build a better future—and for that, I am truly grateful.”
