Support: Scholarship
Colin C.

At first, I never believed I had a natural talent for mechanics. But one day, I heard a radio host talking about the demand for aviation maintenance technicians, the opportunities in the field, and the program at Greenville Technical College. Something about that moment stayed with me. For the first time, I could clearly picture a future for myself—and I decided to go for it.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Nearly two years into the program, the excitement of starting something new has faded, and the long days of classes, work, and financial stress can feel overwhelming. But when I think about my family and the future I’m building, I keep pushing forward. I remind myself that every late night, every sacrifice, and every challenge is bringing me one step closer to the finish line.
As I near the end of the program, finances have become especially tight. This scholarship has provided more than financial support—it has given me relief, encouragement, and the reassurance that someone believes in my future. Because of this generosity, I can continue working toward my degree and Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification without losing momentum.
After graduation, I plan to continue working in aviation maintenance here in Greenville and eventually open my own aviation maintenance business. To anyone struggling through school or life’s challenges: don’t quit. The hard days will come, but so will the breakthrough moments. Take it one day at a time, stay committed to your goals, and trust that your hard work will be worth it in the end.
“Thank you so much! Your generosity has allowed me to continue my education for another semester, and that means more than words can express.”
