Support: Scholarship

If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be resilient.

From battling Crohn’s disease since middle school to enduring multiple surgeries and hospital stays, I’ve faced more than most my age. In 2022, I hit one of the lowest points of my life—struggling with depression, stuck in a major I didn’t love, and reeling from a terrifying family tragedy when our home was randomly riddled with bullets. My mom lost everything. And still, I pressed on.

I chose Greenville Technical College because it gave me a chance to rebuild—affordable, personal, and full of opportunity. I found my passion in mechatronics, where I can finally work hands-on, and I’m thankful for instructors like Mr. Ellenburg who make complex lessons click.

This scholarship is more than just financial help—it’s a stepping stone toward a future I’ve fought hard for. I dream of becoming a mechatronic engineer at BMW or Michelin. I plan to start as a technician, stay curious, and never stop growing.

Education is my way forward—toward stability, opportunity, and giving back to the people who stood by me. Thank you for helping students like me rise above the struggle and keep moving toward something greater.

Your support has made my journey to graduation a little lighter, and I’m truly grateful. I work and go to school because I have to—because survival demands it. Right now, I’m just getting by.

That’s why I’m pursuing my degree: I want financial freedom. I want to build a life where I can breathe, not just survive. And thanks to this scholarship, I’m one step closer.

I feel a shift coming. I feel something greater ahead. God is good, and I believe this is just the beginning.
